I want my righteous fury Back
I want my righteous fury back
I want the world to stop
I want to have the time to think
About all those on top.
I want the world to just collapse
Beneath the weight I feel
The constant questioning, querying voices
Asking if my experience is real.
I want the world to all hold hands
I want to smile and laugh
But life is not a meme
And death is not a graph.
I want to find reform
To learn, forgive, forget
But every time I tried to talk
You said “it’s not time yet”.
And so my righteous fury
The anger in my heart
Is based in sadness ‘cause this world
Was always torn apart.
I want my righteous fury back
And with it I want my words
This might the best chance in my life
To voice all my concerns.
Instead I keep my tongue
I watch, I sit, I wait
It’s very hard to see the hope
When you feel it’s all too late.
So every day I search for hope
I search for words to say
And every day I hope the need
For fury goes away.
