About Me

I am a British born Afro-Caribbean actor (Actors Centre Australia 2010), writer, and singer who has lived in Sydney for more than a decade. I belong everywhere and nowhere. I have more privilege than many, and yet less than many, and I do my best to acknowledge that daily.

I am also a practicing psychologist working towards a Clinical PhD one clawing step at a time.

Most importantly, I am a storyteller. My greatest love is to tell stories to engage the soul - and help others navigate through and tell their own stories. You can often find me at twitch.tv/duerespite  or on Youtube telling emotion filled stories with people I trust.

Acting

Spanning musical, classical, devised and previously unperformed works, I appeared most recently as Mrs Brown in The Book of Mormon (GFO), Gary Coleman in Avenue Q (Monsta); the Bell Shakespeare Players (2014) as Juliet, Ophelia and Lady Macduff; semi-devised performance Hero and Companion Piece (Glorious Thing), semi-biographical piece And Now To Bed (subtlenuance); How to Lose Sight (Shh.); A Quiet Night in Rangoon (subtlenuance); Rosalind in As You Like It (Siren Theatre Co.) and the title role of Antigone in London’s East End (Woodhouse Players).

In film, I appeared as one of the children of the Harry Potter world in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Warner Bros.).

In 2021 I will be joining subtlenuance in the writing of a new play (watch this space), while continuing to write my own individual work.

Tabletop Roleplay

When not on stage or providing therapy, I am heavily involved in storytelling through Tabletop Roleplaying Games as a writer, streamer and roleplayer. My current loves are D&D, Savage Worlds, Dread, Vampire the Masquerade (V5 more than 20th) and The Land Whispers.

I have a vested interest in the development of independent TTRPGs and love to play one-shots to experience new systems and new games. In 2019 I played around 8 new systems - the bulk of them indie games. While I didn't truly understand how mechanics affect storytelling at the beginning of that year - now I understand the vast ravine of difference between Dungeons and Dragons 5e and Enderwoods, the differences between Savage Worlds and Open Legend, and how a system can dictate the kind of story you'll tell.

One more thing: I strongly believe that I have a voice, and I will use it to raise others up where I can. You can count on that.
